Where I plan to be this Saturday...

So... this weekend our church is hosting a block party, which I'm actually really excited about! We've got such an eclectic, talented bunch of people that are giving their time and resources to make this Saturday a wonderful event.  There are going to be so many great things going on... so I thought I'd share why 80th and Broadway is totally the place to be this weekend...to kick off the fall in style. :)

1. Tons of fun for the kids- bouncy houses, craft tables, music (see #2)
2. Live music by great musicians
3. Corey Hayes will be shooting 4 x 5 pictures to raise $ for restorenyc
4. We'll be utilizing the church building for...
- A gallery art show! Yes, there really is an art gallery inside. And there are some cool pieces in there!
- An artisan craft fair- featuring some of my favorite handmade crafts. Early Christmas shopping anyone? Unique and beautiful handmade items by some local talented folks.
-Find out what other things we have going on this fall for families
5. A used book sale- see what kind of treasures you can find...
6. Stop by for lunch- the food vendor is offering a variety of lunch plates for a reasonable price...
7. A bake sale! Yes, really- when is the last time you've been to one of those? Yummmmmy. :)

Tell your friends! And I hope to see you there! :)

Flower costume

I'm not sure what we will be doing tomorrow- but Zoe had it in her mind for the last couple of weeks that she wanted to dress up like a crayon. I'm sure this stemmed from a conversation that we had where I told her about some of my favorite Halloween costumes my mom made for me growing up.

Well at the last minute, she changed her mind and decided that she would rather be a flower, and we should make her costume together. That we did...

Yes, I was the one who used the sewing machine to make that shirt, but don't be too fooled. The designer (not me) was the mastermind behind the project...

Actually, I had to simplify. She had too many dreams about her flower costume. And I am just not that talented with the sewing machine. This will have to do. :)

Dollhouse

Zoe and her best bud Elisabeth recently created this doll house. Complete with carefully chosen wall decor, windows, make-believe trap doors on some floors, and glitter! What else could you ask for in a dollhouse, really?
