A 4 year old's take on the immaculate conception

For part of our advent plans this year, we divided up the Christmas story from Luke 2 into 25 parts. Each day Zoe opens up a door of the advent calendar to find part of the story, and something fun (sticker, candy, etc). It is neat how every day there is something very interesting, or amazing to explain.

Well the other day was Luke 2:5- "He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child"

Me- "So the thing is that although God creates new life, something special happens between a mommy and a daddy to make that child. And the amazing thing about Jesus, is that his parents weren't married yet, and that special thing had not happened... instead God just put baby Jesus in his mommy's tummy..."

Zoe- "I guess He wanted to just get goin!"

Me- "Um... right,... well..."
