Family Art Project

We have a big blank wall in our living room and have often talked about what to do with that space. We dream of all sorts of art that could go there, but until this past weekend hadn't acted on that idea.
We decided to buy 5 blank canvases, plus acrylic paint in Magenta, Yellow, Blue, White and Black. When we got home, the three of us mixed colors until we found five that we liked.... then we painted away!
We mixed the paint in small batches, to add some depth to each of the panels.
And here's what we ended up with! I am not good at knowing what setting the camera should be on to take pictures (it looks a bit different in person). But we are pleased with what we have! Zoe, of course, loved the experience. Her blue-green panel turned out great, with a bit of help from mom and dad.
And here's a close-up. We figure when we get tired of looking at this, it will be time for another family art project- we'll just paint right over it!

This was a GREAT idea! Lauren, you are so creative :) and Miss Zoe too, of course. Mike, did you have fun?
Love, Grammy
This is very cool. I told Mike this morning that we are commissioning the Harts to decorate our living room!
It was a great project, we all had fun. It was a bit trying to have a 2 year old and explain that we're supposed to paint in long straight lines...but other than that...lots of fun!
Ha! We're pretty cheap!
