Just for fun

A Delightful Time

[acidfree:253]I knew that tonight would be a fun night, since it was a girls night out! But little did I know just how much fun we would have at Alice's Teacup. This is an adorable little tea shop with an Alice in Wonderland theme. They have a lot of teas to chose from, plus scones, sandwiches, and desserts. I could have even ordered Zoe some pureed baby food. (I didn't want to splurge for that one). She did really well, considering that everything was served on china...thankfully she managed to remain pretty content with her own toys.

I'm looking forward to bringing Zoe back when she is a bit older. They have a cute little sitting area with all sorts of books for the kids to read while they are awaiting their tea, plus a gift shop with many themed items and cute homemade things (like Alice aprons, colorful wings for the kids to wear, etc). The walls are painted with excerpts from Lewis Carroll's books. In all, a super-fun girls night out. :)

A new family tradition

This Saturday it was supposed to rain most of the day so we decided to have a friend over and make some homemade pizza and watch a movie. Well, we never did see a cloud in the sky- it was beautiful out! So we mixed up the pizza dough and then went for a walk in the great weather while giving our dough a chance to rise.

Well, the pizza was SO good- I just have to share this recipe with you all. So easy you can memorize it! I've decided we should make this a family tradition- homemade pizza nights. It sure beats any frozen pizza I've had, and was better than most that you could order for delivery. Of course we will still have to splurge for "Slice of Harlem" pizza from time to time to support our neighborhood pizza joint. :)  But this recipe made two big pizzas and probably cost just $6 or $7, all 'deluxe' ingredients included.
